Three Important Truths
And why do we need to know them. Why are they important? Because the answer to them will determine where you will spend eternity; For there is coming a day when you will stand before God and be judged according to your works and be comdemned before God if you are trusting in your works alone. Therefore, please consider carefully these truths from God's Word.
First important truth—We are all sinners from birth
You, like all of us, were conceived and born in sin. David, the king of Israel wrote; "In sin did my mother conceive me" (Psalm 51:5). The result is that we are all sinners from birth. "The wicked are estranged from the womb; They go astray as soon as they are born." (Psalm 58:3). This is true of all of as for the Bible teaches us that, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23).
Second Important Truth—You will stand before God One Day
Do not be fooled, death is not the end of your existence. In fact the truth is this; death is the beginning of an everlasting life, either a life of total happiness or a life of total misery.
Therefore it is imperative that we understand there is coming a day when we will stand before our Creator and we will be judged according to our works. As Paul the apostle penned in — Romans 14:10-12,
But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written:
“As I live, says the LORD,
Every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God.”
So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
Most importantly; we dare not trust our own goodness for God tells us; "For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all."—James 2:10
Therefore even the most righteous among men have no hope because the Bible makes it clear, "But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away."(Isaiah 64:6). This is why, outside of Christ there is absolutely no hope.
But a great salvation has been provided and this brings us to the third important truth.
Third Important Truth—Christ Came Into the World Not to Condemn but to Save Us
The question is this, how can we who have sinned in thought, word and deed stand before a most holy God and not be condemned? Here is the only answer; "Christ came into the world to save sinners." (1 Timothy 1:15).
Although many will be condemned to everlasting punishment, the good news is all who are trusting in Christ will be declared innocent. For in John 3:17 we read, "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
You see, what the Father did in Christ Jesus for sinful men like you and me is this; "For He (God) made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:21).
When Jesus died upon the cross He provided two glorious things for all who trust in Him alone for their salvation.
First, He met the righteous demand of God that payment be made for all who come in repentance before God and trust in Christ alone for forgiveness. Secondly, by His life of perfect obedience He provided a perfect rightousness that is imputed to all that place their trust in Him.
What does it mean to trust in Christ? It simply means to beleive what the Bible says about Chris, and to accept it as true. Acknowledge that you have sinned against Him and trust in Him alone for forgiveness for He really did die to provide a covering for our sins. He really did rise from the dead three days later. He really is alove today. And because of what He did beleivers are justified—declared innocent by God. This is the good news—the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
