2025-01-05 – Morning
Covenant Reformed Church, MT - Rev. Orrie Oosthuizen
Text: Ephesians 1:7-8
Theme: The riches of God’s grace which He lavished upon us in Christ.

As Paul continues his doxology on the glory of God, he emphasizes the redemption through Christ’s blood which bought forgiveness of our sins for us. The depth of the riches of His grace which was freely and mercifully lavished upon us brings us wisdom and insight. This causes a believer to no longer remain in sin, but to actively move away from sin more and more. Wisdom is having knowledge and knowing how to correctly apply it and insight has us understand the intricacies of what is involved. These are all riches of the grace of God in Christ.

Covenant Reformed Church, MT - Rev. Orrie Oosthuizen
Text: Galatians 5:13-26 & Heidelberg Catechism LD 20
Theme: The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to the church.

The Holy Spirit is at work in and through us as believers. The Holy Spirit causes us to become alive to God as it works regeneration in us. Following on this, the Holy Spirit also makes us to grow in our bearing of fruit in our Christian lives. The Holy Spirit accomplishes this by witnessing in us of the truth of God’s Word.
